Setting up the PALIDIN.ONE scanner:

  • You must plug in the ID scanner to a power outlet and directly to the internet via an ethernet cable to get the scanner up and running properly. It is also possible to connect the PALIDIN.ONE scanner to the internet via WiFi, but your scanner must first be configured to allow this.

  • If all lights are turned on, that means the PALIDIN.ONE scanner is powering on.

  • If the lights are blinking from left to right, the PALDIN.ONE scanner is lacking an internet connection.

  • If all lights are blinking simultaneously, the PALIDIN.ONE scanner needs to be restarted.

Doing scans:

  • When the PALIDIN.ONE scanner is ready to be used, it will have the power light on with a purple color.

  • There are 2 slots where you can insert your ID depending on the document type you are wishing to scan. The top slot will be used to scan card size IDs such as driver's licenses, while the bottom slot will be used to scan passports.

  • To scan ID cards, you will need to insert the card (face down with the information facing the lights) on the top slot and push down until the card clicks into place.

  • To scan passports, you will need to open the passport on the page with the person's information (with the information facing the lights) and slide it into the bottom slot.

  • While the ID is being read, the power light will start blinking white.

  • Once the scanning process is complete, it will have the white light on. Please remove the ID once the scanning process is finished. If the ID is inside the scanner for a while after the scanning process has finished, the scanner will start beeping as a reminder to remove the ID from the scanner.

What each result means:

  • Green happy face - Passed result - Document has been verified and authenticated as real.

  • Yellow slanted face - Unknown result - Document was unable to be verified. This can happen due to the wrong side being scanned, the document being dirty, damaged or broken, the document having too poor security features for authentication or due to an unknown forgery. If you get this result, you can try cleaning the ID and trying again.

  • Red frowny face - Failed result - Document has been verified as invalid. This can happen due to the ID being expired, too broken or dirty, modified or forged. You may wish to check in with the person who the ID belongs to or follow your store's procedures on dealing with Failed results.
